All about saving the Bengies Drive-In Theatre

To all who have helped us with the first step, our zoning WAS changed to the necessary BR (commercial), with a covenant in place with our local community's Bowley's Quarters Improvement Association, to protect community and us from being anything other than an entertainment oriented facility, with the Bengies still in place.

The SAVING part is far from over. Now I will need to go about the actual idea and planning stages of those things that will aid in the additional income to afford the mortgage.

I want to thank the HUNDREDS of you who wrote, called, faxed and assisted us with convincing both the county and the community that the Bengies deserved the chance to stay here, and now comes the hard part of making the rest fall into place.

I would also like to thank our 6th District County Councilman, Mr. Joseph Bartenfelder, all of the Baltimore County Council, our County Executive, Mr. Jim Smith, and the Baltimore County Planning board and Planning staff. There are MANY wonderful people involved with this, too many to list, but each very key in gaining this First GIANT step in preserving the Bengies Drive-In Theatre.

You continued support is very necessary, and I thank you all for loving this theatre as much as I do.
